This motor manufacturer was established in 1946 and quickly got a contract to supply motors to Red Star Products, Inc. for their Multiplex line of radial arm saws. When Red Star was acquired by Rockwell Manufacturing Co., Whirl-A-Way became Rockwell's supplier. In 1950, Whirl-A-Way was acquired by A. O. Smith Corp., a venerable company that had been moving into the motor business. For quite a few years afterwards, the Rockwell/Delta Multiplex radial arm saws had motors from A. O. Smith.
