This bandsaw was passed on to me by word of mouth and purchased. It appears to have been modified to operate as a wood cutting and metal cutting bandsaw. The machine was rather neglected but salvageable. There is a suspicion that the bandsaw may have been used in a railway workshop as the add ons were well done and professionally installed. The covers at the back made of heavy gauge metal and again well made. On restoration all the pulleys and gears were removed and the saw returned to normal. Completely stripped and refurbished. The last photo shows the massive 1/2 hp variable speed motor fitted to the bandsaw. Speed is adjusted by moving the handle and can be varied from 500 to 1500 rpm. A rather bulky motor it was replaced with a smaller 1/2 hp motor. The table has a stick on poster; for protection I suppose.
