I recently acquired a Northfield Uni-Point radial arm saw at a government auction. I have always been interested in the Uni-Point, but what fascinated me about this saw is that the saw also had the hydraulic cross feed equipment. This includes a hydraulic motor and a separate hydraulic pump/fluid reservoir that is powered by a 3/4 Hp motor.
The saw itself runs on a Louis Allis 7.5 hp motor with a Warner brake, takes a 16" blade and was manufactured in 1987. The saw is in very good condition, and aside from not having the saw blade, the only part missing is the lower blade guard.
The mechanical movements of the saw all work as well as the motor and electrical circuitry. I also tested out the the hydraulic cross feed which is actuated with a foot pedal and is fun to work.
The pictures below will give you a general idea about the saw's condition. I did wipe of some of the dust and grime for better looking pictures. I plan to restore the machine and will post more pictures when it is complete.
