I picked up the shaper in early 2007 from a local pattern shop, It had a crudely installed 1.5 hp motor. It came with 3 spindles, 1/2" 3/4" and 1". It also had 3 router collets. I fabricated a Motor mount and Belt guard and installed a 3 hp US Electric motor. There are a couple of these machines listed on thesite and are listed as #5 shapers. This one has no ID marks on it. It has the number 186 stamped in the table and I am assuming this is the serial#. The spindle is set up to operate at 9200 RPM. My guess is the shaper weighs in a little over 400#
The spindle on this shaper looks to be identical to the Moak#7 shaper. There is also a picture posted on the site of an early model Moak that looks identical to this shaper.
