This saw came from A&D Meats in Dittmer, MO, Owned by my step moms family. They shut down and the saw went into storage for many years until I was needing a good band saw and my dad suggested getting this one from storage and converting it for wood. The blades are custom made 128" long, up to 3/4" wide. The meat saw table was taken off so I could make a flat work surface. Still needs some upgrades like bearing guides and a paint job, but besides that the bandsaw has made quite a few projects with no problems. The motor is a Dayton 2hp 1ph 220v, and has an old style pull switch.
I had to figure out how to make a work surface that would sit flat and for it to be removable to change blades. You can see in the picture the under side of the MDF table and all of the different cutouts I made so it would clear different pieces of the machine when lifting up.
Not sure of the age but I would work at A&D as a kid about twenty years ago and saw this saw cutting throug deer and bison all the time.
