Bought a lot of 7 1930s-1950s power tools out of storage from a small manufacturing business that closed in the 1960s. Decided to keep this one - motor was dragging so I swapped it out with a good one from the same era, cleaned it up and lubed it. I generally don't repaint tools - I like the original finish even if it is well worn.

This thing runs like a watch - super smooth and quiet, and coasts for about 10 seconds after you turn it off. The 5 speeds are listed on the badge - 5200, 2835, 1700, 917, & 460 (I haven't checked these but the pulleys seem original, so I'm happy).

This base on this was painfully small - like a bench size stand (but this is a floor model?), so I built a raised platform - I'm tall and I like to get the work up a little higher.

The knobs on the advance are identical to those on my very old Delta machines - maybe they used the same supplier?
