Have had for a long time, don't clearly recall circumstances, probably "junque" emporium or fleamarket. The 2 speed, reversible head intrigued me. I have done timber framing of barns many years ago, but none since this acquisition. Recent notice of "The Hardware Specialties Manufacturing Co" of Anderson, Ind. who also avowed to be the "sole MFRS" of the BOSS boring machine (which see)suggested this one for a comparison point. Same machine. Different lables.
4 position head reverses end to end (flips over) to change speeds. It can be reversed side to side (rotated around the spindle axis) to use, or not use, the releasing rack which engages at the bottom of the stroke to withdraw the drill under cranking power.
Since the Hardware Specialties machine on this site well shows the overall machine, these shots focus on the different logos...and a long ago field repair.
