This company was one of four that made the "BOSS" beam mortising machine (Buckeye Manufacturing Co., Hardware Specialty Manufacturing Co., Lambert Brothers & Co., and J. H. Osborne & Co.)
. It was the only one that marked it with a patent date. Buckeye moved from Union City to Anderson sometime during the 1890s; the other three makers were all located in one or the other of those cities.
