I acquired this little Porter through eBay from a gentleman in Upstate New York along the Vermont border. The seller acquired the machine some time ago from the town's cabinet maker. In his eBay listing, the seller displayed a 1911 advertisement from 'Manual Training Magazine' (reproduced below). The ad depicts the jointer as a 5-inch model and shows the 5" casting mark on the front of the jointer as my jointer has. Interestingly, in the 1918 Porter catalog, the Porter Jr is listed as a 6-inch model and is shown without the 5" casting mark. This is repeated in the 1920 advertisement found in this site's Images section. Therefore, I must conclude that this jointer was produced in the 1910-1918 timeframe. While the Porter Jr has a small capacity, the 1918 catalog lists the 6-inch model at 257 pounds.
A big thank you to Robert Bernstein who is kind enough to take in the little Porter until such time as I can effect transport to the South.
