This is part of the large machine lot acquisition I made in April 2007. I bought the machines from a gentleman that had bought and removed the machines from a local community college only days before selling them to me. (see here for full story: http://owwm.org/viewtopic.php?t=24204)

This is a very nice machine and has some nice features.

It is equipped with a 3HP direct drive motor.

Nice Tannewitz hand-scraped tables and top wheel mount ways.

It has an interesting electronic, hydraulic brake mechanism to detect and stop the top wheel in case of the blade breaking. It appears to utilize car brake components for the master cylinder and drum brake. The lower wheel brake is manual.

The design of the lower wheel guard and dust collection looks to keep most of the sawdust from the lower wheel.

Raising and lowering the blade guide is geared with a hand wheel and a spring tension pulley. It may take a little longer but it takes much less physical effort than my counter balanced Northfield.
