I picked up this drill press for $40 via CraigsList ad on February 17, 2007. I don't need this drill press, I don't need another restoration project, and I don't need more stuff cluttering up my workshop, so I bought it anyhow. I don't know what I am going to do with this. I would like to find all of the parts that I need to convert it back to flat-belt driven. The pulleys are all wrong, and the quill just slips inside of the current pulley, which just seems wrong. It does supposedly work though. The motor I got with it is an old Westinghouse motor with a hard to read label. Anyhow, I will eventually restore this machine, especially if I find the correct pulleys, though I will not be holding my breath. Most of these presses are probably in landfills, I'm sure. If I get it functional as it is, I may put it in my 10' X 10' shed for small drilling projects, but than, who knows. If anyone has any information on this drill press, especially a source for inexpensive parts (I'm going broke here), I'd appreciate it.
Update: 5/1/07 Well, I spent three weeks hosing this drill press down with WD-40, and tried to work the parts loose, and finally got it done this weekend. I than cleaned the grime and grease off of the castings, primed and painted them. I soaked the swiss cheese table in vinegar for four days to remove the rust (which works VERY well, Thanks Suds). I now have to derust the handles, quill, etc. I think that I have decided to keep this as more of a display piece since I know it's going to be next to impossible to find the parts I need to get this back to it's original state. More updates and pictures to come...

Here's the motor that came with the press. I'll try to de-grime it and get some numbers from it.
