This 36" babbitt bearing machine is the property of Henry Schlenk, of Matthews Co. VA. Henry is a friend of a friend and was gracious enough to allow me to photograph this machine. Stored outside, he uses it for resawing - with a 2" swaged tooth blade. I wanted to see the saw particularly as I thought it might be the same model as my recent acquisition. NOPE - this one is the heavy duty model. It most resembles the #2 saw in the 1893 Berry and Orton (Atlantic Works) catalog. However, this saw had 36" wood rimmed wheels rather than the 38" wheels shown in the catalog. It is not for sale so far as I know.

I particularly liked the S shaped cast iron rear blade guide with wooden rub blocks. (My wife, who was reading over my shoulder, is now mocking me relentlessly...)
I can take a hint. Enjoy the photos - poor quality due to the dark shed, bright backlight, and microscopic flash tube on my little point and shoot.
