Comments:
This is the second stationary woodworking machine that I bought (after my Delta 20" band saw). It is the smallest model of the Elektra Beckum combo machines but, as a K-model, it has hardened aluminum jointer tables with toothed table lips (for noise reduction) and a 4.2 kW (5.6 hp) three-phase motor. The K-series also has the sheet metal base, instead of the four-legged stand on the M-models. The cutterhead has 2 knives.
Im 1993, these machines were still built in Germany. Today, a slightly modified version is still available from Metabo but built in China.
Like on all Elektra Beckum machines, there is a lot of aluminum, sheet matal and plastic instead of cast iron. However, these machines are very popular in Germany and there are not many other options of you want a small jointer / planer.
