This was the first used machine I purchased with the express intention of restoring. I had only just learned of the pedestal bases and found them intriguing. I found this on Facebook Marketplace. My first impression was that it was a hopeless basket case, but in reality it was not bad at all. I didn't even paint it. The original paint was still shiny. I removed rust from the table, extensions and pedestal, painted the pedestal, replaced the arbor bearings and put it all back together with a new switch and a different motor (still Craftsman and period-correct, but bigger). This is a fine-performing saw that I am proud to own.
