found this recently: a very rare: Carborundum Co. Niagara falls, NY. Hardware Store countertop point of sale display. made of cast bronze and in 4 parts in the 1880's or very early 1890's. Plus a thin galvanized tray to accommodate the stone. (((Appears to have an original 2 tone grey and white Carborundum stone with a very organic seem between the white and grey stone grinding surfaces.....))) It is a survivor: This would be a very good candidate for a restoration....i also see some original red pigment in the outer rings that say "Hardest and Sharpest" Along time ago, someone repaired it with a screw through the indian on both sides, and one edge has peened nails at bottom corners....all and all, it is all there and in fairly decent shape.....(I like it as is)
