Comments:
Acquired near Pittsburgh, Pa in fairly rough shape. Previous owner did not know much about it. Motor was likely not original. The press had evidence of having been tipped over, including a broken depth stop fork, missing depth stop rod and collar, non-original handles, broken and partially missing motor mount, broken table support collar, and non-original motor pulley.

The spindle pulley bearings, which are obsolete extended inner race bearings, were problematic. The upper spindle pulley bearing was locked up and the outer race had obviously been spinning in the housing. I was fortunately able to resurrect this bearing. The lower spindle pulley bearing had been replaced with a homebrew setup using a standard bearing, which was functional but not ideal as the outer race only partially seated in the casting. Fortunately I discovered that the original spindle pulley bearings are nearly identical to those of a Walker Turner 900 press, which, while still obsolete, are easier to source.

I was lucky enough to find what I believe to be an original depth stop rod and knurled nuts. A depth stop collar from a Delta press fit well enough.

I replaced the motor and added a VFD, along with a switch and speed control box. I was not able to find a replacement five-step motor pulley, so I used a four-step pulley and consequently lost the highest speed. The VFD makes up for this should I need it.

Comments: The whole motor setup was a mess, as evidenced by the angle of the belt.
