Thanks to Brian Kachadurian for figuring out the source and history of Vulcan anvils, swage blocks and other tools made by II&B Co. I picked this anvil up for the price of being able to take it out of the tank bay that I found it in, on a U.S.Army base in south western Germany in 1991 or 92. A Wilton vise came with the anvil along with a slew of abandoned Snap On tools, that was a good day. I found an old wooden shop stool to sit the anvil on, I repainted it at one time and have pounded a lot of cold metal into shape with it. It is the right size for my shop that has no forge or large metal working capability. The anvil came with no hardies or anvil specific tools.
