I picked this Craftsman/ Emerson Gen4 Commercial (made in America) drill press from a lady who was selling a vise I purchased off FBMP. I paid $150.00 for the drill press but this is the commercial version of the Gen4 Craftsman Emerson and I really wanted it. I have cleaned, stripped, repainted, polished and installed new bearings on this press and motor. Some of the major differences between the commercial and standard version are:
Split headstock with take-up adjustment for the quill
Double row ball bearing in the lower quill
T-slot 14" x 14 1/4" table
1 7/8" quill diameter vs the standard 1 5/8" quill
3/4" diameter spindle vs the standard 5/8"
Pinion back lash take-up eccentric bearing
1/32" depth gauge graduations vs 1/16" standard
