This was my first Wilton vise and i paid a good bit for it. I purchased it off ebay for 250 with shipping but I still feel it was a good deal. The vise came with some Mcmaster Carr brass jaw caps. I cleaned up this vise and repainted it in hammered verde green and painted the lettering with an enamel paint pen. The arrowhead stamp on the jaw side indicates this vise was made at the Blackhawk forge in Ohio. In the early 80s, Wilton started to make vises for other companies and removed most of the Wilton branding from the castings so they could be rebadges for Snap-on Mac Tools etc. So, this vise had a simple Wilton decal plate on one side that was missing. I acquired a replacement decal and applied it once the vise was completed. Also during the 80's Wilton changed its warrantee policy from 5 years to 1 year. There are two date stamps on this vise, 8 88 date of manufacture and 7 89 date of warrantee expiration. The tradesman series was targeted at the small shop and home market to provide a cost efficient version of the combination "C" series with a nice size jaw, pipe jaws, and a small anvil.
