Comments:
I attended an auction preview and came across this table saw. I bid on it, but the bidding got too rich for me. Hopefully, a Vintage Machinery member found a home for it. I normally would not submit something like this as an entry, but I believe this is a very rare version of the table saw, and thought it should be added to the library. I also had permission to take photos from the auctioneer.
It appears to be all original, in good condition, and very complete. The table is gorgeous! The motor is a 5 Hp, 1" arbor and sized for a 16" blade. The table stretches 115" left to right and measures 50" right of the blade to the the micro adjust fence set at the last taper pin holes. The table right of the blade measured a whopping 58-1/2". The extension table was missing the support pedestal, but there is a 2" diameter female threaded opening for a support pipe as part of the casting on the underside. The sliding table has a Tannewitz J-430 table extension with a swinging support arm and sliding mechanism added to the saw, probably at the factory. The sliding table measures 56-1/2" X 44-1/2" including the 20" wide stock sliding table. There is a 1/4" thick steel strip 3" X 56" with slots milled into it that will allow it to slide into fasteners located on the front side of the table. This acts as a backer plate that extends above the table to support wood being pushed through the saw. Shown in the photos are two miters, micro adjust fence, quadrant, filler strip, backer strip, and a bunch of blades in good condition. Now for the interesting part. The box sitting in front of the saw has a quadrant, dado extension, a set of cast iron wrenches, and two riving knives. The front of the table, both miters and the fence all had the serial number for the saw stamped on them. The only thing, other than the table support pedestal, that that I think may be missing is a horseshoe for the miters, but I do not know if this saw came with one. This is a beauty!

Post script: A friend also attended the auction preview with me, and took some pictures of the saw with his camera. He recently sent me his pictures, and one really caught my attention. He had taken a picture of one of the saw blades that came with the saw. It had a Tannewitz logo and there was striking star burst from the flash reflected from the blade that was caught by the camera. Had I seen this before the auction, I probably would have taken it as a sign and went all in to get it!
