Purchased at a garage sale near Ottawa, Ontario, Canada for $6.50. The machinery dealer badge (William Urqahart, Machinery Merchants, Defoe Road, London S.W. 17, Streatham 6986 (3 lines)) would seem to indicate that it was originally from the UK. I'm assuming that the round badge with the stylized letters ACE are the manufacturer's name. There were no marks/names cast into the frame itself. The quill was marked in centimeters, not inches as would be expected from a UK manufacturer of that time period, so perhaps it was manufactured elsewhere in Europe. The quill stroke was 14 cm (5.5 inches). Sadly it appears that this drill press was kept outdoors as "yard art" so it is all seized up. That, along with the broken frame and missing quill handle, means that I'll make use of it for parts rather than trying to put back into service.

[ADMIN NOTE JAJ 2022-09-24: It turns out that William Urquhart was both machinery dealer and manufacturer, and their factory was the "Ace Works", so it seems likely they manufactured this machine. Manufacturer has been updated accordingly. It is also possible that the Urquhart merely rebuilt this machine and put both the "ACE" and "William Urquhart" labels on it.]
