Aquired this machine on August 25, 2019 for $40.00 Canadian from a gentleman who aquired it from his father, who aquired it from his father. Machine was one of the last items in a house which had been sold, and the drill was heading to the scrap yard if I didnt save it.
Only identification on the drill is the A.R. Williams cast brass tag. I believe they were only the dealer and the machine was made by W.P. Davis as it is identical to another drill press attributed to them here.
Original drive system removed and replaced by a motor hung off the rear of the head. I have removed all of this drive system, as the spindle pulley that had been fitted was in very poor shape.
Drill has 14" capacity when using square table, but only a 12" capacity if using the round table. Square table measures 13" x 13" overall, while round table is 10" in diameter.
Square table able to be swung completely around the column, while round table rides up and down on a machined dovetailed ways.
Overall a really neat drill. I am glad I decided to grab it, even though I dont need it.
