This is a porter 12" model 300CM Joiner that I obtained from the San Diego School District. it got the full tear down and restoration treatment, new bearings, new knifes, rewired, stripped and painted.
The 300CM has some very interesting features that makes it a favorite among woodworkers. It has accurate fence that is easy to adjust. A large hand wheel makes raising and lowering the in-feed table easy. It has a very unique wedge feature for adjusting the in-feed table slant for making hollow glue joints. It also has an accurate cutting head to bed alignment adjustment mechanism that I think is the best in the business.
It has a 5 horsepower 3 direct drive motor with large cutter-head bearings and a swing away drop-down guard that is very handy.
