Comments:
This is not mine. It’s located at the Ferrymead Historical Park in Christchurch, New Zealand.

It was ordered in the late 1920s – one of four – by New Zealand Railways, and had been delivered by mid 1930, at a cost of £205 1s 9d (NZ£) and was installed at the Addington Railway Workshops (Christchurch). After the workshops closed in 1990 it was purchased by one of the societies that operate from the Park (the tramway society I believe). It has since changed hands and is awaiting reinstallation. It was probably line-belt driven when manufactured and currently has no motor.

The machine’s tables are 10ft (actually 10’ 2½” or 3110mm) long; 18½” (470mm) wide; and 34” (865mm) off the ground.

I regret that the lighting conditions (and my lack of skills with a camera) did not allow better photographs.
