This lathe was modified by a previous owner. Pillow bearings were installed. Tailstock was raised the same amount.
Previous owner said Babitt were in place before. I do not know if the spindle is original but is has a Morse 3 taper. So does the tailstock.
Spindle is now just over 8" above the bed. I imagine it was 6" before.
I was not able to find any info on it in the Hill, Clarke&Co pictures/documentation. Nor under the J.G. Blount. Except for the Blount patent info.
The banjo/tool rest might not be original.
Nice simple, lathe. Seems very robust!
