Here's a Porter spindle shaper I picked up at Lexington Furniture in Lexington, NC. It had a second casting at the rear of the machine that held the motor. This casting had a large plate that extended under the foot of the main casting. When I unbolted the shaper from the floor, I discovered that the rear casting had been badly broken and was locked into the floor with concrete. I decided to take just the main part of the machine. This machine has a stationary table and a spindle that raises and lowers via a hand wheel. The machine was powered by a 440 Volt 3HP motor.
