I inherited this motor from my dad. Although he used to for another purpose, it's specs make it suitable for woodworking machinery and I hope to honor his memory by puting it back into use in that way. It runs smoothly.

Dad's motor. I'm a sucker for japanning on motors. I dream of one day touching up all my japanned tools and motors with some baked on concoction of asphaltum and pitch.

Unique badge in that the motor was "Made For Grainger." Later Leland brochures published here on Vintage Machinery indicate this is low torque at start. I'll be researching if any benefit to a woodworking application.

Not sure what this plate conceals. It's attached to some metal forks and wiring. I'm not an electrician. I'll post on OWWM and update with what I find out.
