I found no name on it but i am quite sure it's a E. J. Worcester because of the pat. no. 127,132 and the feed arm system. I did find something on the main frame behind the large bevel gear. I don't know if it's a mistprint number "9" or a "y" (see photo no. 4). The drill was in good shape, the only thing missing was the crank. I think the feed arm is not the original one, it's not a casting but a hand forged. The drill is heavy, 173 pounds and is mounted on 1 7/8" x 6" x 60" maple board which i kept because i believe is original. There are four little thumb nails left at the back probably for holding a name or something.
The balance wheel is 16" diam. x 2 1/2" and weighted 50 pounds. Spindle is 1.2800 diam. and has a up and down run of 4 1/4". Ratchet wheel is 7" diam. with 66 teeth and has a solid brass handle. The large gear is very special, it is made of three different parts, a 7 3/8" spur gear with 58 teeth, a 6 3/8" bevel gear with 38 teeth and a cam. The small bevel gear is 4 3/8" with 26 teeth and the small spur gear 3 5/8" with 28 teeth.
Something else is special, a sloted plate is bolted on the frame instead of an ordinary groove holding a pin to keep the feeding screw from turning.
If you need more details , i have many photos but i could submit only six.
