This lathe had been acquire by a local machinist who restored it. He poured a lot of sweat equity into it and I love it. I acquired it from him only after I bought a smaller Craftsman 109 lathe that I regret purchasing. After banging my head against the 109, it was a no brainer to go ahead and buy the Sheldon that had been restored by a machinist and saying goodbye to the 109. No doubt my ignorance did not help the 109, but I was done with it regardless.
