This saw was part of a Craftsman lot buy from some great folks in East Texas, whose family had owned the machines since they were new. The lot included three table saws (two 10"-113.29991 and one 8"-103.22171, each with machine stands), a 12"-103.24280 Band Saw and a 4-3/8"-103.20670 Jointer w/pedestal stand. One of the 10" saws essentially served as a parts saw, which worked out nicely since several parts were bent or very poor on the better saw. See group shot at the end of this post.
The entire saw was disassembled, stripped, de-rusted and/or primed and painted. New arbor bearings were installed and one of the chromed knobs was improved thanks to eBay. The face plate was in poor physical and cosmetic condition and I was unable to retain the "machined " paint job after straightening out the dents so, I decided to sand it down and paint (Krylon Aluminum). That led to a decision to change the chassis color and I surprised myself by settling on red (perhaps a nod to more modern Craftsman tools). The result of the still in progress restoration is shown in several photos. Next up are the table extensions, miter gauge, fence system and motor mounts. Hoping to wrap it up in the next few weeks and I'll post the completed project at that time.
UPDATE: Sold on 11/3/17 to a local carpenter.
