Comments:
This motor was found, and will remain, on earlier 1937-41 Delta Improved No. 890 14-Inch Band Saw on a No. 891 Open Frame Steel Stand. The Band saw and motor had a lot of paint and overspray. Denatured alcohol stripped motor to the original jappaning and cleaned up the badge nicely. Runs well! Bet it'll out muscle new 1/2 HP motors.

Pretty copper badge, (or perhaps brass/ zinc?). I. W. probably stands for induced current (Iw). I believe this is the motor "type." Earlier motors in this index show "Type I", which I think means induction as well, and probably not "Type 1."
