Comments:
Bolt Cutter & Nut Tapper machine No.20.
This is not mine. It's located in a village museum in Central Otago, South Island, New Zealand.
It looks to have been used recently (shiney swarf).

General view. There are only three die holders still with the machine, and (from memory) only one contained a die.

End view. The machine can be cranked from the end, or from the side for maximum leverage. The side crank handle can also be inserted through the end handwheel - note the two locating lugs next to the wooden handle.

The bolt/nut clamp. The two jaws are threaded opposite hand so the jaws always hold the workpiece central.

Note the little knob (bottom, just left of centre). Using the knob to rotate the lever up, moves the pinion which is on an eccentric shaft, so that it no longer engages the large gear wheel.

Maker's tag (sorry about the poor focus - it's the best of three attempts).
