I do not own this machine. This machine is owned by a friend of mine who resides in Port Elizabeth Eastern Cape South Africa. The machine is an exampe of a South African made 6 inch jointer made bynTauco Manufacturing of Port Elizabeth. Whereas the castings were locally produced identical to Rockwell machines, there were parts that were imported from the USA or were "leftovers" from the time that Rockwell had a plant going in Port Elizabeth. Note the serial number badge is similar in design to the Rockwell format but shows the firm Tauco Manufacturing. The sheet metal case may be of South African manufacture as at the time there was a drive to sell SA made product rather than imports. The story of Tauco Manufacturing is included in the History of Rockwell in South Africa which can be found on the OWWM Wiki.
