This McDonough 54" Band Resaw was bought from the Walter plant in Nashville, TN.
We restored it and ran it for 10 years, resawing old joists and decking.
We took out the original 50 HP motor and replaced it with a 75 HP motor with reduced voltage starters.
It ran an 8" wide x 27' long blade.
G&M Bandmill in Williamsport, PA did all the band saw hammering and sharpening work.
The 54 model will gauge saw, off the inner roll, as well as center split.
Center split arrangement will split stock in two, equal thicknesses, whatever the initial thickness.
We normally pulled 4/4" off each side, leaving the middle of 2 1/2" to 3" thick joists.
The 54 Resaw will also bevel saw for making siding.
