I purchased this jointer from the Shur Guitar factory in 2003. I was able to purcase a copy of the manual from Dana Batory. It was extremely helpful to understand the fine points of this machine. Note the knob on the lower side of the infeed wedge. You can adjust the angle of the infeed bed to create spring joints.
Except for removing the motor, I took the entire unit apart and cleaned up surface rust. I used beeswax to lubricate all moving parts and did a standard grey paint finish. It is complete except for one of the locking knobs on the fence. I think they are the same as those used on the Cresent jointers. Anyone know where I can get one?

I moved to Golden about a year ago and just got this jointer into service. 1800 lbs and try moving this around in a garage!
