Bought from CL from son of original owner. Son was/is 60 years old. He remembers he and his father using it with wire wheels to do lawn motors, etc.
The 3" ci filler piece could be substituted with a full pedestal and by lengthening the motor wires, it could be a floor model. Too short now for a floor model and a bit tall at 18" for a standard bench height. Total unit weighs 90 lbs as the cast iron bottom/pedestal is 30 and all one piece.
Motor runs great. No need for new bearings at this time. I cut 7" from the cord and reused it, some lipstick and rouge, new buffing wheels and it's good to go for probably another 90 years.
