This shaper superficially resembles the small Herberts (also badged as Craftsman) round-tabled shapers from the thirties, but the differences are numerous. If/as I learn more about this manufacturer I'll move the listing accordingly.
The table elevation is adjusted by means of a well machined split nut that engages a set of threads machined into the main casting. Both that table and the split nut are clamped with an Allen cap screw to the main casting that contains the bearings and captures the 2" cast pulley. The machined column the table slides up and down is 3" in diameter. The ring in the table is 3-7/8" in diameter, and the table casting at the perimeter is 1/2" thick. All in all a very simple machine with some nice attention to both the castings and the machining. The round table is 14" in diameter and as received includes two sets of tapped holes for mounting a fence. One set is 8" center to center, the other 5-3/8". Based on their relation to the webbing on the underside of the table I suspect the more widely spaced set is original. Maximum vertical travel of the table is 3/4".
