Side shot of RAS that I just purchased. Everything about it similar to other saws of that era. Difference was the mechanical safety key on the power switch. The key controls a sliding tab behind the power switch so that the switch can't be pulled if the key is not in the correct position.

The second and bigger difference is the blade guard. On the front of the guard is the anti-kick back device but integrated into that is a light. The light gets power from a small, standard two-prong cord that plugs into the top of the motor. There is also an extendible guard extension coming out of the back of the blade guard. It can be extended down to the material surface. Instructions for both are shown on the side of the guard in the picture.
