This panel saw was origionally owned by Swiss Plywood (William Tell Woodcrafters). As far as i know it was there since the 60's. At least thats what the maintenance man said. I acquired this machine when Swiss Plywood bought a CNC panel saw made by HOLZMA. I was the panel plant operator at the time. I offered to take this machine with the agreement that the money saved by me personally removing it instead of the company would pay for it. The picture shows the small side table. This was origionall centered on the side. there were two larger tables. One where the small one is now. and another opposite it.

It was operated by 2 laborers. One stood on the side pictured. This was the senior operator. He had the control panel and the stop blocks to operate and check. the sized pieces usually ended up on this side. The opposite side is where a second operator would stand. This operator was in charge of loading the panels into the saw and to do any operations that would prevent the main operator from reaching across the saw.

When a cut is performed the orange guard clamps the stock. The head assembly rises up bringing the blade above the table. The head carrige is then pulled forward on a rail by a chain. The blade retracts and the carrige returns to the start position automaticly once the carrige reaches the end. The start position can be adusted manually or the operator can stop the carrige at any position from the control panel
