This unit was in the woods for "8" years. I was at a friends 40th birthday party and someone asked if I saw the saw in the woods? "No, I said, what is it?" "A radial arm saw," no interest I said I had one. "It is green", he continued. Wait green you said? Interest peaked and armed with iPhone flash lights we went into the woods, holy c**p!! He said you can have it if you want.
So I quickly asked my friend, who's birthday it was, if he did say I can have it. Sure, just get it out of there. So I get the present, I will try to be back by next weekend. I went back the next day and dragged it out of it's eight year resting place. He told me that the previous owner of the house had a shed full of tools and stuff that was falling down. Some guys came and cleaned it out and took all of the tools. I assume they did not have room for it and left. It sat there for 8 years according to the neighbor.
I have it mostly torn down now to restore and to replace my 1972 Craftsman RAS. The Red Star is a beast compared to the CM one I have. It is an original green color, not sure why since all others seem to be grey that I have seen online. It's like my Makita 2040 planer, a very rare green color. I am planning on repainting it the same green, or may just clean it up and fix all of the rust. I like the patina to it like my 1949/50 Unisaw.
Here is some pictures from the day I picked it up and got it home.

It was damp inside, cap was wet through and falling apart. Glad didn't plug it in.
