I acquired this saw in MA from a man who is now a dear friend of mine. My friend said that the saw was purchased from the original owner who was a pattern maker in RI. He went on to explain that the business had closed some 50 years ago and that the saw had not been used since then. After tearing the machine to the ground, I'm convinced that he was telling the truth. Every single nut and bolt is still intact on the machine. None of them are boogered up or wrung off. All of the parts (including a factory splitter) are with the machine. The only piece missing is the original quadrant. Sorry guys, don't have any impressive war stories about the restoration of this machine. This has been a very dull and delightful project! However, I do have a challenge for any of you who have a knack for finding the unobtainable: I will pay top dollar for a Tannewitz quadrant. I will pay a $500 reward plus top dollar for the original quadrant with the number 4813 stamped on it. I will need a history of the quadrant so that I can prove its authenticity. Will send a picture of the saw when I am finished with the restoration.
