I picked this saw up off of Craigslist for $40. Though rusty it was intact and in relatively decent condition for its age. I tore it apart and did a fairly complete overhaul on the unit. I still need to replace the belt with the link type but is so much better than my Taiwan made craftsman TS I've been using for the past 15 years. While I do like to finish these vintage tools close as close as possible to their original scheme I do like to bling it up a little. In this case, I did a two-tone finish that matches my Boice Crane DP. In spite of my best efforts, I was unable to retain the fish scales on the front face cover when I was trying to clean it up so I just ended up buffing it to a high mirror finish. Perhaps someone out there can tell me their secret before I polish the blade guard on my Craftsman band saw?
