I purchased this shaper from a company in Indiana. It was mostly complete, but needed a little TLC.
I striped it down and painted it to match the paint that was found under the table top.
The bearings where packed with grease and shot. I replaced the bearings with ABEC5 brass caged bearings, I hope they hold up, beacause the ABEC7 bearings are hard to find and very expensive. When the shaper came home I tore it down in my garage and carried it up to my loft workshop, it had a sacrificial top. To my suprise under the sacrificial top was a freshly ground table top.
The motor is a modern 3hp 3ph Lesson. I have yet to run the shaper I have not purchased cutters yet, but the bearings run quite and cool with spindle oil.
