This is a Canedy-Otto No. 1 post drill. This is an early model, made before 1909. Later models had a ball bearing between the top of the spindle and the bottom of the down-feed screw. This drill does not have the ball bearing. The spokes in the fly-wheel of this early model No. 1 post drill have a unique shape. The later models have the traditional S shaped spokes. The Canedy-Otto No. 1 post drills have a quick return for the self-feed mechanism [the red cage surrounding the brass nut, connecting the spindle to the down-feed screw].
