I'm a little embarassed submitting this after looking at some of the the beautiful restorations of complex machines. One man's trash.... I was thrilled to salvage this from a scrap iron pile. I'd been looking for a pedestal grinder. It was about completely burried in pine needles, which probably saved it from walking off. I was happy how good of shape it was in. The shaft and babbitt is great. I figured it was a William H. Field Co. pedestal grinder. When I read about them rebadging equipment I went back and looked at a raised area on the grinder. There was no sign of lettering. It wasn't just paint, but filler used to hide the J. G. Blount lettering. I removed some with a torch and scraper. I wish I had taken a before picture. I'd guess Field installed this as I'd think their badge and the tool rests are on what would usually be the back. The table was designed for the flat belt to go through.
