THIS MACHINE IS NOT MINE, NOR IS IT FOR SALE BY ME, DON'T ASK, AND NO I DO NOT WANT TO TRADE YOUR ITEM "X" FOR IT. THIS IS NOT A SALES FORUM AND I DO NOT HAVE MACHINERY FOR SALE HERE.

This "Yankee" is no longer my property, it is now in Ontario, Canada, with another member. Any ??s about it, will be fwdd to him. I picked this up $55.00, talked down from $75.00 at an antique store in Buffalo, NY. I have no history on it other than the store owner bought it from a man that didn't want it to go to scrap. He had to do some work on it, to "free it up", still some surface rust to get rid of. What black paint I see on it, appears to be original. So far I've only found the cracked handle (of walnut?) one missing set screw and a missing auto set/self feed mechanism. Interesting that the keyless chuck is also marked "Yankee" and has an earlier pat. date in 1910. It will need some more work to free it up, rust and moisture has frozen it. Comparing this model 1005 to Neil Peters' model 1003 here in the photo records, tells me that the '05 has some more depth to drill, a larger, or improved model perhaps.

Comments: North Bros., "Yankee" dp, raising/lowering mechanism, there isn't a great deal of distance here for depth.
