I found this swing saw at the flea market this morning. I just thought it looked neat and I'd never seen one except on this site so I couldn't resist. I've soaked it with PB blaster to try and loosen things up. I know the blade guard is missing but am not aware of any other missing parts.
The 3/4 hp motor looks rough but I'll try it out and hope it can be used. Depending on how the restore goes I may post to BOYD for a blade guard. I couldn't imagine anyone using this machine without a guard.*** Well I pluged the motor up and hit the on switch. It hummed and I tried to get it to turn by hand. It tried to but just couldn't get going. I'll take the motor apart and see if it's worth trying to salvage.****The original motor was toast, so I put a 1/2 hp Craftsman on it. New arbor bearings a cleanup and new paint. I didn't have room for it and probably wouldn't have used it so I gave it to my brother.*** Thanks to Bill(cabinets2inlay) for the blade guard and to Chris(Bigredc) for helping to get my brain kicked in gear and with some pics of his .
