This machine was aquired with 3 others as a package deal from a man in Ridgway, CO. All these machines were purchased new by Elk Mountain Millworks, a Colorado Company. From what I learned, these machines were bought new in 2001, and Elk Mountain Millworks went out of business in 2003. The person I bought them from used them for one job, then stored them in his heated garage wood shop where they sat until I bought them this past October. These machines are in incredible condition, with barely a scratch on them. In fact, this bandsaw has an hour meter on it, and when I got it it read only 2 hrs.

This bandsaw is the Northfield 36" Deluxe bandsaw, with 36" carter wheels, carter guides, 30" under the guides, 37" square table, automatic upper wheel brake, lower wheel foot brake, 15hp belt drive, 600rpm motor, and a work light. Came with a brand new set of upper and lower replacement carter guides for the future, 3 boxes of blades ranging from 1/4" to 1-1/2", 2 replacement throat plates, dovetail miter gage, and the resaw feeder.

The resaw feeder is an option from Northfield. It has 10 speeds, and is very heavy. I have yet to use the resaw feeder, other than to turn it on to verify operation. This machine came with almost every option thinkable, and I plan to add a rip fence to finish it off. This machine is very big, 112" tall, and runs incredibly smooth, much more so than my smaller saws, and quiet as can be. I still need to get this saw down off the 4x4's it is sitting on, but I am also thinking about getting some heavy steel C-Channel and mounting the saw to them, thus allowing me to move it a lot easier if I have to. Still arranging the equipment in a new shop space, so I am trying to figure out the best shop layout.
