This machine belonged to the City of Milwaukee and was installed in a Machine Shop run by the City Water Works Department and called the Riverside Machine Shop which was inside the Riverside Pumping Station. It is in like new condition and has seen little use over the years. It has been painted by hand in a light gray color, has almost no rust and still shows the hand scraping on the ways. It was acquired when the shop building was torn down a few years ago. It has a 230 volt DC, 3 HP General Electric motor. We have run the machine on a rectifier connected to 220 volts AC. Installing an AC Motor would be very easy but then it wouldn't be original. It runs smooth and quiet and has excellent lubrication. It was originally purchased with a standard table (A universal table was an option), A double screw, universal vise and the motor (Overhead belt drive pulley was also available.) It weighs about 5k. It is currently residing in a hanger machine shop in an airfield near Milwaukee. I do know the serial number of the machine but don't have it at the moment. A beautiful catalog/manual for this machine is available on line. The machine has auto cycle for stroke length and feed. The table feeds L to R and that movement can be auto cycled also. This machine is very well built and the design features for 1922 are very impressive. The term "Auto Oil" refers to the automatic Lubrication system, a new feature in the 1920s.
