Recently purchased 36" Porter facer from a vocational tech center with low hours and exceptional maintenance. Later model machine that I believe is 1971 vintage from the serial number. The school removed the original straight knife cutterhead and upgraded to an ITCH head including the grinder and bar. Also included are all the manuals (3) for the machine and cutterhead and master electrical schematic. Cutterhead is powered by a 220/400 volt 15 HP motor, the feed drive is 2HP and power elevation motor is 2HP. Most of the straight knife machines I have followed and chased in the past were 20-25HP but with the ITCH head less HP is required. Machine weight by the book is 6800#. Typical of school machines this one has limit switches and auto cut-offs on all functions. Has a SEAL OF INTEGRITY sticker on it which should enhance my standing in the woodworking community
